Designed with versatility in mind, this dog door is suitable for various kennel setups, including dog houses, dog crates, outdoor dog kennels, and commercial kennels. Each package includes two flaps per box, allowing for installation in multiple kennels. For a polished finish, you may choose to purchase a set of hole plugs separately.

Step 1 Prep the Rough Cutout

  • If you have not yet measured your pet, watch this video to ensure the pet door will work.
  • To determine the area that will be needed to accommodate the door, measure the dimensions of the extended section on the back of the unit. This section of the door will be fitted into the door or wall. Please note that an installation template is not included with the kennel dog door.
  • For Door Installations: If possible, remove the door from its hinges using a screwdriver and hammer to tap out the hinge pins. Lay the door flap for installation.
  • Be careful not to cut too close to the bottom of the door as you may reduce the door's strength. Level the top edge of the cut-out line.

Step 2 Drill the Holes

  • Once you are certain the pet door will work with your door or wall, mark the outline of the required rough cutout with a pencil.
  • Drill holes through the corners just inside of the lines using a ⅜” (9,5 mm) drill bit.
  • Make sure your drill is kept level and drills all the way through the door.

Step 3 Saw An Opening

  • Using a jigsaw, cut along the marked lines, making sure to cut straight.
  • We recommend applying masking tape along the outside of the lines to protect your door or wall from scratch marks as you cut with the jigsaw.

Step 4 Attach the Frames

  • Use screws (not included) to attach the outside frame. The frame ensures a tight seal and secures the door to the wall. Don't forget to use a level.
